Careers
We are small, and we hire slowly. There is no careers portal and no recruiter. If what is below sounds like you, write to a human and say so.
How we work
- Remote, US hours. Most of the shops we serve are in the United States, so the working day follows theirs.
- Small team, wide jobs. Nobody here does one narrow thing. If you need a fixed job description to feel safe, this will be uncomfortable.
- Written before spoken. Decisions get written down so the person who arrives next year knows why.
- We use the site we build. Everyone answers real buyer messages in their first week — including whoever is running the place.
What we are usually looking for
- 1Support that actually helpsYou can tell an anxious buyer what is happening in two sentences without sounding like a form letter. Retail or hospitality counts more here than a support-software certificate.
- 2Front-end that respects slow phonesYou care that a page holds still while it loads, and you can prove a change helped with a number rather than an opinion.
- 3Writing for shoppersPlain American English, short sentences, no marketing fog. Bonus if you have written for people buying a gift while worried it will not arrive.
- 4Seller successYou have run a small shop yourself, or worked closely with people who do, and you know why a maker prices a week of work the way they do.
How to apply
Email support@ettee.com with the subject “Working at Ettee”. Tell us in a few paragraphs:
- Something you made, shipped, or fixed that you are proud of — and what it cost you to get it right.
- What you would change about this website in your first month.
- How to reach you.
No cover letter template, no take-home test that takes a weekend. We read everything and answer everyone, even when the answer is no.
If nothing is open
Write anyway. We keep good letters and go back to them — and if you make things by hand, the better door may be opening a shop here instead.
