What It Costs
Three numbers. That is the whole fee schedule. You pay nothing to list and nothing monthly. When a piece sells, we take a commission and the card network takes its processing cut. Nothing else.
What we charge
| Fee | Ettee | When |
|---|---|---|
| Listing an item | Free | Never charged, and listings do not expire |
| Monthly subscription | Free | There is no subscription |
| Commission | 15% | On the item price only — not on shipping |
| Payment processing | Included in the commission | No separate card fee — it is already inside the commission |
| Advertising | Optional | You choose. We never bill you for ads you did not ask for |
What that looks like on a real order
| Item price | Commission | You keep | Total fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| $18.00 | −$2.70 | $15.30 | 15.0% |
| $35.00 | −$5.25 | $29.75 | 15.0% |
| $68.00 | −$10.20 | $57.80 | 15.0% |
| $120.00 | −$18.00 | $102.00 | 15.0% |
Shipping is not in this table on purpose: we take no commission on shipping. What the buyer pays for postage is yours to spend on postage.
How that compares
Checked in August 2026 against the two marketplaces most handmade sellers ask about. These are their published rates, not our opinion of them.
| Ettee | Etsy | Amazon Handmade | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | Free | $0.20 every 4 months | Free |
| Monthly fee | Free | Free | $39.99 (waived after approval) |
| Commission | 15% of the item price | 6.5% including shipping | 15% including shipping and gift wrap |
| Payment processing | Included in the commission | 3% + $0.25 | Included in the 15% |
| Forced ad fees | None | 12–15% once you pass $10,000 a year — you cannot opt out | None |
The line that catches people out is the last one. On Etsy, crossing $10,000 in a year makes offsite advertising mandatory, and the fee lands on orders that ad happened to touch. Sellers there commonly end up paying 11–15% all in. Here the number on your statement is the number in the table above.
Getting paid
- Payouts run weekly to the bank account on your shop.
- Fees are taken out of the order, not billed to you separately. Nothing to reconcile.
- Refunds return the commission to you. If the sale unwinds, so does our cut.
What we will never do
- Bill you for advertising you did not switch on.
- Take a cut of the postage your buyer paid.
- Charge you rent for a listing that has not sold.
- Change these rates without telling every shop first, in writing, with a date.
